PickNDrop ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the PickNDrop mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). This policy applies to all users, including Customers and Riders.

By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described herein, please do not use the Platform.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

1.2 Identity Verification Documents (Riders Only)

Riders are required to submit the following documents for identity verification:

These documents are collected solely for the purpose of verifying the identity and eligibility of Riders on the Platform. Document data is stored securely and is not shared with other users.

1.3 Location Data

We collect GPS location data to facilitate delivery services. For Customers, location data is collected when you create a Delivery Request to determine pickup and drop-off coordinates. For Riders, location data is collected while you are online and available for deliveries, and continuously during active deliveries to enable real-time tracking. You may disable location sharing when you are not using the Platform, but location access is required for the core delivery service to function.

1.4 Payment Information

Payment processing on the Platform is handled by Paystack, our third-party payment service provider. PickNDrop does not directly collect, store, or have access to your full credit card numbers, debit card numbers, or Mobile Money PINs. We receive transaction confirmations and payment references from Paystack to track payment status. For Mobile Money transactions, we collect the phone number associated with your Mobile Money account.

1.5 Device Information

We automatically collect certain device information when you use the Platform, including:

1.6 Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with the Platform, including:

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

3.1 Between Riders and Customers

During an active delivery, limited profile information is shared between the Customer and the assigned Rider to facilitate the delivery. This includes the user's first name, profile photograph, rating, and Rider tier. Phone numbers may be shared for the duration of the delivery to enable direct communication. Location data is shared in real time during active deliveries to enable tracking.

3.2 Payment Processor

We share necessary transaction information with Paystack to process payments, including Mobile Money transactions (MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo) and card payments. Paystack processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy and applicable PCI-DSS security standards.

3.3 Law Enforcement and Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information to law enforcement authorities, regulatory bodies, or other government agencies when required to do so by law, in response to a valid legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of PickNDrop, our users, or the public.

3.4 Service Providers

We may share information with trusted service providers who assist in operating the Platform, such as cloud hosting providers, analytics services, and push notification services. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes of providing services to PickNDrop and to maintain appropriate security measures.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

While we take reasonable precautions to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Location Data

Location data is a core component of the delivery service. GPS coordinates are used for real-time tracking during active deliveries, allowing Customers to see the progress of their delivery. Riders share their location when they are online and available for deliveries to enable the Platform's matching system.

Location data from completed deliveries is retained for a limited period to support dispute resolution, safety investigations, and service improvement. Riders may stop sharing their location by going offline in the application. Customers may revoke location permissions through their device settings, though this may limit the functionality of the Platform.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active on the Platform. Specific retention periods include:

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details provided in Section 11. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

9. Ghana Data Protection Act Compliance

PickNDrop is committed to compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of the Republic of Ghana.
